Jim and I often visit schools, libraries and book shops to talk about our books using a mixture of songs, storytelling and drawing.
We’ve also taken part in events at the Edinburgh, Bath, Hove and Guildford Book Festivals, Word Up and the Just So Festival.
Testimonials
‘Wow, what a wonderful experience for our children! Our recent book week saw the whole school through from Foundation Stage to Year Six inspired and enthused by the ‘Stripy Horse’ stories and ‘Oh No, Monster Tomato!’. Our school has been alive with learning with storytelling, drawing, story writing, book making, arts and crafts and much, much more! The workshops have continued to inspire and motivate the children across the curriculum and, I believe, this will be a much talked about week in their learning for many years to come.’

‘Meeting Karen and Jim brought the story of Stripy Horse alive for the children. They were fascinated to hear how the stories came about and watch Karen as she drew all the characters. The children found meeting ‘real life’ authors really exciting and this in turn promoted a real interest and enthusiasm for writing.
Karen and Jim were very friendly and had a great manner with the children. They were overwhelmed by the work the children had done and were enthusiastic and supportive of what they had acheived. Overall their visit was a really positive experience of which the children still talk about. We look forward to seeing them again this year.
